One Day Trip To Mantralayam

Hello Everyone, My name is Goutham and today I am gonna tell you about my spiritual journey to Mantralayam.

Entrance Of Mantralayam Temple

💮Temple: "Mantralayam Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple"(6:00AM-9:00PM)[370KM From Bangalore]
💮Entry Fees: No
💮District: Kurnool
💮Mode Of Transport: one can go by Car, Bus, Train.

Lets start with the beautiful quote "Unplanned Journeys gives the best memories", so did our journey(me and my buddies), we booked tickets from Bangalore to Mantralayam by train and immediately started our journey. After 8 long hrs of journey we finally reached Mantralayam station. Mantralayam station is 16km away from Mantralayam Temple, which made us again travel in a share auto(40rs per head) to reach the Temple. That movement we decided not to travel by train to Mantralayam again, because its hectic to travel in another vehicle immediately after getting down from train and more over share auto guys make you wait till the auto is full with passengers.

After reaching the Temple Entrance you will be annoyed by several people(hotel advertisers) chatting and following you all the way till Main Temple, which is kind of irritation to anyone. SRS(Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt) have constructed lots of building with all facilities for pilgrim stay, my suggestion would be to book/accommodate those facilities given from the Temple side. It costs around 200rs(100rs rent,100rs advance which is returned after submitting key back to them). We did the same(me and my buddies), we got the room and got our self ready to visit Temple for Darshana

💮About Mantralayam Temple:
🚩The Mantralayam Temple has been dedicated to Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy(c.1595–c.1671),who was a Hindu Scholar, Theologian and Saint.
🚩Mantralayam Temple is located in Mantralaya in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh along the banks of River Tungabhadra.

💮About Sri Ragavendra Swamy:
🚩Sri Raghavendra Swamy was an ardent devotee of Sri Moola Rama and Sri Panchamukhi Anjaneya.
🚩It is believed that Sri Raghavendra Swamy saw Lord Anjaneya when he was performing penance at Panchamukhi.
🚩Sri Raghavendra Swamy extensively preached Dvaita philosophy as well as the teachings of Madhavacharya.

Before going to Temple, first we went to Tungabhadra river and prayed by dipping our hands and legs in river and continued back towards the Temple. and before entering the main Temple(Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple),we have take darshana of  Grama Devate(Protector of the Mantralayam)Manchalamma Devi, as there is a myth that one has to visit Sri Raghavendra swamy Temple only after taking blessing from Manchalamma Devi.

After taking the blessing the darshana of Manchalamma Devi we went to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brindavana. There are so many rules and regulation for the devotees who visit this Temple, we followed all the rules and regulation and the Temple premises and took darshana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

There are many entrances to enter inside main Temple: Dharma Darshana(Free way), VIP,Seva Darshana. We entered the Main Temple via Dharma Darshana and there the most beautiful and unable to express those movements standing in front of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana."Lots of things to ask the lord but at that movement you forget everything due to emotion seeing the Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy".

We came out of the main temple and started to do pradakshina(round the temple) around the Temple and then went to have the Anna Prasadam offered by the Temple to all the devotees. One of the delicious prasadam of my life time. Later on we went to collect Parimala Prasadam 25rs(Sweet kind of tasty cake)available at the counters outside the Temple.

We then headed back to room and rested for 30minutes and freshened up again for the next plan to get execute i.e. to cover up the Bichale and Panchamukhi Temple(Famous place with Historical Significance). You need to hire a cab/Auto or share-auto to visit these places, you need to bargain with those cab/auto drivers because they randomly fix the amount and demand to pay. Similar situation we went through, after arguing for several times finally the driver accepted the rate and we continued our travel to Bichale(21Km From Mantralayam)and Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple(20Km From Mantralayam).First we went to Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple as it was going to get closed soon,

Brindavana Installed By Appannacharya

💮The Structure Of Brindavana In Bichale:
🚩It is said that Appannacharya swam across the river Tungabhadra every day to see Sri Raghavendra Swamy in Mantralaya after he entered the Brindavana.
🚩On one such day, looking at the plight of his greatest devotee Sri Raghavendra Swamy appeared in the dreams of Appannacharya and guided him to install a monolithic Brindavana on the banks of the river Tungabhadra and perform the rituals.
🚩The Brindavana is surrounded by the Tungabhadra river and the serenity of the place is a source of bliss to the heart and soul.

💮Appannacharya House Bichale:

💮About Appannacharya:
🚩Bichale is a place where the Madhwa Saint Sri Raghavendra Swamy got in touch with his devotee Sri Appannacharya.
🚩Appannacharya was a great scholar who taught Vedas and Upanishads.
🚩It is believed that though Appannacharya was a wealthy man he encouraged his students to beg for alms to make them understand the life of sages as described in the Vedas.
🚩The rice brought by the disciples was tied in a cloth and hung on the branch of the gum tree nearby and the rice got automatically cooked by the time Appannacharya completed his lecture.
🚩It is also said that this is the place where Sri Raghavendra Swamy decided on the date as to when he would be entering the Brindavana at Mantralayam.
🚩This place is also known for christening Raghavendra Swamy as Parimalacharya on the completion of his book Parimala Grantha.

🚩The house also has an idol of Sri Anjaneya and Serpent God in one of the rooms.
🚩There are markings in the house indicating the sleeping place of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

After hearing all stories of  Appannacharya and Sri Raghavendra Swamy we took Darshana of Mukya Prana and Shesha Naga and returned back to Mantralayam. We packed our bags, left the room and went to railway station to get back to Bangalore.

Well every journey comes to an end carrying away beautiful memories, So did mine.
